Try to add some nuts, dried fruit, orange zest and/or cinnamon. I usually add walnuts or almonds, as well as a little vanilla. Serve with butter, jam or marmalade.

- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/5 cups bananas ripe
- 1 tsp backing powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- powdered sugar
- Clean the bananas and mash with a fork. Beat the melted butter, sugar, bananas, eggs, flour, baking soda, salt and sour cream with a mixer.
- Grease the baking pan, pour the batter and cook in preheated 170'C (350F) oven until ready, about 45-60 minutes. Check with a toothpick for readiness.
- About 5-10 minutes before you take it out from the oven you can add some walnuts on top.
