Crispy Fried Onions

Crispy, slightly sweet onion. This is a great addition to burgers or salads. My kids like to add it to their pasta or mashed potatoes. The next day the  onions are not as crispy like on the first day so try to use the same day but if not, they can still be used in various dishes and stored for about five days in a tightly closed jar or container.

    Instructions

    1. Peel and cut the onions into thin half rings and place in a deep bowl. Disassemble the rings, sprinkle with salt, add the flour and mix thoroughly, so each ring is completely covered with flour.
    2. In a deep pan heat a vegetable oil and fry the onion in parts (small portions), you don’t need a lot of oil, but it should cover the onion rings while cooking. Fry the onions until golden brown on a medium heat.
    3. Remove with a slotted spoon and spread on paper towels. Repeat the same with the rest of the onion.
