Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk with vanilla and remove from heat. Separate the egg whites from the yolks, then beat the yolks with 1 cup of sugar until white. Pour the hot milk slowly, stirring all the time.
  2. Sift the flour, then mix with yeast and salt. Gradually pour the flour into the liquid mixture and gently stir it. In a separate bowl whip the egg whites into a fluffy foam and add the remaining sugar gradually, continuing to beat. When the egg whites form stiff peaks carefully add to the dough, stirring with a spatula from top to bottom. Put the dough on a greased and floured baking sheet and make a hole in the center, like a doughnut. Bake at 180' C until the cake doesn't rise and is golden-brown, about 50-60 minutes. Then remove the cake and leave it to cool. After that it will be easy to remove from the pan. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.
