I made the rice in instant Pot. In mode ‘ Saute’, heat the oil or lard, then fry the chopped carrots, onion, and garlic. Add the rice, and fry for a couple of minutes, mixing all the time. Pour in chicken bullion or water, salt, pepper, and optionally certain spices for the rice (I brought my from Mexico, special spices for the rice with added tomatoes and other vegetables). Close the instant Pot with the lid. Change to ‘Rice’ mode, and cook the rice like usually. After it’s done, mix it and serve. If you are making your rice in a rice cooker, then fry the vegetables separately, add the rice, fry for a couple of min, then transport everything to the rice cooker. Add salt, pepper, spices, and water or chicken bullion.
