Ingredients
For the Salmon
* 2 fresh salmon fillets, approximately 200g (7 oz) each
* 1–1½ tbsp olive oil
* 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
* A little freshly grated lemon zest
* 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
* ½ tsp dried oregano
* ½ tsp fresh fennel
* ½ tsp sweet or smoked paprika
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
* 1–2 tsp capers
* Fresh dill or basil, for garnish
* Feta cheese, crumbled (optional)
For the Lemon Marinade
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, oregano, fresh fennel, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Brush the salmon fillets with the marinade and let them rest for 10–15 minutes while preparing the air fryer.
Instructions
1. Preheat the Ninja Crispi Pro using the Air Fry mode at 190°C (375°F).
2. Line the bottom of the cooking container with air fryer-safe parchment paper, if desired. Make sure the parchment is secured under the salmon and does not obstruct airflow or come into contact with the heating element.
3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down, if the skin is on, and brush with the remaining marinade.
4. Air fry for approximately 7–10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets (mine were thick, it took 12 min). Start checking after 7 minutes to avoid overcooking.
5. Add the capers during the last 1–2 minutes of cooking or simply scatter them over the salmon after cooking.
6. The salmon is ready when it reaches an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F) and flakes easily with a fork.
7. Garnish with fresh dill or basil, crumbled feta, and an additional squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the salmon with Mediterranean-style sautéed vegetables.
