Lilies

Daylilies and lilies like to get their start in the fall. Lilies are bulbs with long, elegant stems and fragrant flowers.Because blooms open at various times, most lilies live one to two weeks. Colors include white, yellow, pink, red and orange; many have a deeper color (freckles) on the inner petal. Daylilies are perennials with long, slender foliage and blooms that last only a day. Orange, yellow, cream, peach, lavender, and wine-red are the daylily’s main colors. Daylilies prefer good, well-drained garden soil in full sun and can grow whether soil is wet or dry.
