Easter
Easter is one of the most important Christian holidays with a great variety of traditions. It was one of my favorite holidays as a child with delicious food and sweet treats. Besides being tied to Christianity it also coincides to the coming of spring and many traditions and symbols actually come from old pagan traditions.One tradition everyone thinks of when thinking of Easter is of course Easter eggs. Hard boiling eggs and coloring and decorating them a variety of ways. The way we did it as a child is my grandma would collect onion skins in the winter and before Easter we would color the eggs with these and some other natural ingredients. If you want to try a more ‘natural’ method of coloring eggs I’d recommend trying this or try beets (bright pink) or spinach (light green). If you rub them with oil after they’ll be even shinier. Overall for Easter it’s best to celebrate with bright, happy colors, fresh colorful flowers, grass, anything that gives the feeling of spring.
